Butter London no. 1

This Christmas I received one of the most amazing presents ever. My boyfriend Duc gave me 10 Butter London nail polishes + a top coat. One of the things that I love most about Butter London is its outstanding quality. I've never have given myself a "manicure" and have it NOT chip until now. I'll be premiering the other 9 colors through time but today I'm starting with the most basic color, black.

Left to Right -
Union Jack Black, Dust, Hardwear Top Coat

Butter London provides the most opaque coverage and it only takes TWO coats for it to get rid of any streaking. Though it is roughly 14$/bottle, it's totally worth it if you're a new/old nail junkie like myself. Of all the nail polishes I've tried, Butter London definitely beats China Glaze and OPI without a doubt. With what I've observed, Butter London and Essie have similar consistencies which would provide me with the inference as to why both polishes are so good! However, the main thing that Butter London holds over Essie is that Butter London is formulated WITHOUT Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP or Parabens. This definitely accounts for the 6-7$ price difference.

Please don't mind how I paint my nails. Lol I try.

The glitter polish pictured above is "Dust" by Urban Outfitters. Urban Outfitters was having a 2/7$ sale and my sister and I got the same polish so we could get the deal. As expected, UO's nail polish lacks the quality of Butter London nail polish but is good for what it is. Because I am a nail polish snob I'd probably only purchase top coats from UO just so the average quality wouldn't be as apparent. This was my first glitter nail polish and I was neither disappointed or overly impressed with the quality. Just meh?

Overall, I LOVE Butter London nail polish and top coat. The quality is amazing and worth the 14$ if you're collecting like myself. Don't be fooled by UO's sales because you do get what you pay for.

Revlon Lip Butter + Honorable Mention

When I first heard about the Revlon Lip Butters from MissGlamorazzi on Youtube, I knew I had to check them out. Ingrid's (MissGlamorazzi) review convinced me I needed to own these bad boys. With the help from my lovely cousin Irene and searching every Walgreens, CVS, and Target within my area, I was able to get my hands on these lovely lip products.

Left to Right -
Lollipop, Raspberry Pie, Strawberry Shortcake, Red Velvet, Sugar Plum, Berry Smoothie

I appreciate the Revlon Lip Butter's sleek and fun packaging. Similar to Revlon's Colorburst Lipsticks, the outside of the lip butter has vertical diamonds on both sides of the packaging. However, the primary difference between the Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks and the Revlon Lip Butter's (packaging wise) was the lip butter's transparent top. The transparent top allowed me to really see the color of the lip butter without having to open it.

Moving on to the actual product itself, I'd describe the Revlon Lip Butter as a cross between a lipstick and a chapstick. It contains the pigmentation of a lipstick but has the texture and consistency of a chapstick. These lip butters glide on smoothly and are surprisingly as pigmented as any high end lipstick out there. The only downfall to this product is that it does not have as much staying power as I hoped. Expect to be reapplying these lip butters after eating, drinking, or smooching.

Overall, I truly have been enjoying this product since November. I am glad I went on the hunt even though these will be in their permanent line. Haha. I believe the $7.49 was really worth every penny and I'll definitely be on the look out for the next best Revlon lip product!

L'oreal Colour Riche Lipstick - Fairest Nude no. 800

Once again I have been convinced by a Youtube beauty guru, but this time by Judy (itsjudytime). I purchased this lipstick on a whim at Target after taking the horrible TEAS V exam. This was a cheap and impulsive purchase and I'm very glad I own this lipstick. Fairest Nude is by far one of my favorite drugstore lipsticks. This lipstick left my lips feeling moisturized and definitely did not give off a nude color that washed out my lips or face. This nude contains slight undertones of pink which gives the perfect "nude" lip. One of my recent discoveries is Fairest Nude + Sugar Plum (Revlon Lip Butter) = puuhhhfect, especially if your skin tone is as fair as mine. The only down side of this lip product is that it smells very... old school. The smell brings me back to when I use to borrow my mom's Lancome lipsticks.

Overall, I love this lip stick and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for the perfect "nude." (The pink undertones don't make it very nude to me.)
